World Day of Prayer for Hurricane Victims

Today we gathered all together to pray for all those effected by Katrina. Material needs are greatly needed. Offering prayer is an enormous relief as well. I was thinking the other day regarding all the times that we find ourselves waiting in line or stuck in a traffic jam that I would offer this as a prayer for all those who had to wait 5 days for water and food. It's just a thought.

Sunday, September 11, 2005

On this day when we remember September 11th I would like to share with you a prayer that Fr Mychal used to say often. He was the chaplain to the firemen who were the heros of 9/11. He died ministering to them. Fr. Mychal we ask that you watch over all rescue workers and those victims of Katrina right now from heaven.

Father Mychal's Prayer

Lord, take me where
you want me to go;
Let me meet who
you want me to meet;
Tell me what
you want me to say, and
Keep me out of your way.

Entance Into Postulancy

We rejoice with Neville and Julie as they have officially begun their Postulancy among us. The entire community gathered for the cermony. As a sign of our prayer for Neville and Julie a picture of the Divine Master and a booklet on the Pact was given. Each one was called by name to receive these and light a candle as a sign of their yes to God in their desire to begin this time of postulancy.

Prayer Together

Employees and sisters pray together as we grieve the loss of life. Through our shipping department books and materials had just been mailed to Christian Bookstores in the area.

Prayer Service for the Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Under the large mosaic of St. Paul, on the table, is a computer print out of all the people in New Orleans, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida who have been touched by our mission, but fall in the area of destruction from the Hurricane.
